haha.. i shall reply to this fun versus topic!

Sze man, i think jet li would kick bruce lee's butt. Jet is younger, alive, and haven't u seen him in "Once Upon a Time in China" where he did some crazy lion dance kung fu stunts to keep the lion head from falling to the floor?? I forget which chapter that is. But i *know* I saw it!

I also think that Jet is more agile than Bruce cuz he can do some cool tricks like jump over fences and and fight with a water hose in
Romeo Must Die".. and also, when worst comes to worst, Jet can always grab a motorcycle and throw it at Bruce Lee during their showdown, just like what he did in "The One".

on the contrary my dear diana,

Did you not remember that Bruce has studied more than wingchun; boxing, hapkido, jujitsu, choy li fut, judo, etc....

And don't forget in one of the enter the dragon scenes, bruce backflipped and caused O'Hara to stumble on the ground..... he is no chopliver in acrobatics and no strings.

Hi,
I propose not to compare such two people because myths can't be compared. Jet Li in his films do much acrobatics, but also don't forget which Bruce Lee was the first to brought gong fu-pian fimls on the west.
Also, Bruce was able to do push ups on 2 fingers of one hand.

In conclusion: don't waste time to talk about not useful things, myths are myths and often can't be compared, so don't waste any more time and go to do training.

Bruce Lee would win, he seems more traditional that Jet Lee. Considering the fact that most of the outstanding moves he does require strings Wink. That is just my thought though. Either way it would be a very nice duel to see.

All right, a few things.

1. I fail to see how Bruce Lee was a myth, you clearly see he is there, and he does all the things he is portrayed as doing.

2. I believe Jet Li is more traditional, well, it depends on what you are talking about, because Bruce Lee, in his films he merely fights, doesn't show much tradition, whereas Jet Li shows it in most of his films, be it lion dance, or just showing the styles which he does.

3. I know Bruce did other martial arts too, but I do think Jet Li would win in a fight, although Bruce is dead so you can't really compare the too. How about Jackie and Jet? I think that would be a good fight, or they should even make a film together.

4. As for acting and such, Jet Li is a far better actor then Bruce, and if you have seen "Fist of Fury" and "Fist of Legend", well, first I am pretty sure Bruce wrote that script but portrays ALL japanese as bad people, whereas Jet Li showed compassion in both sides....Anyone to comment on this?

And because someone can do push-ups on two fingers means what? So you're saying that if I can learn to do push-ups on two fingers of each hand, I will be able to beat up Jet Li? Oh great, that's awesome I will get right on that then;).

How is it a useless topic? It's fun to know about things like this, and to read what other people think about that sort of situation. Anyhow, this is getting rather long..

I know this is a fun chat. But I have to express some views. Bruce Lee is traditional, but so is Jet Li despite Jet Li learning from his childhood martial arts entertainers... thing. Sort of like the opera school Sammo Hung and Jackie Chan were in.
I think, even though both are people from different times as legends, that Jet Li may win, in terms of kung fu technique, but Bruce Lee lacks technique in his original Wing Chun style as his sifu was very reluctant in teaching him.

But one thing for sure is Bruce Lee has well-trained heigong and body fitness and reflexes. It is a result of his efforts- reflected in his creativity from the different styles he practiced because his sifu didnt teach him and thus created Jeet Kune Do. He even tried to train to a higher level of Heigong called "geng ging" which is the energy from shock or fright, and he tried this (wrongly) with electric currents shocking himself. Some old traditional techniques used batches of burning joss sticks to train the reflexes despite the damage it does to the body (burns).

My father says, he has a senior who smashes coconuts for performances, but he can't win against his schoolmates in terms of being able to hit them and technique. He has the chi, but his hands are slow, and unsensitive for movement.
